1999 Eclipse GSX - All good things must come to an end. |

This was the car that got me into
sport compacts. I picked it up new as a four year lease in
June of 1999. '99 was the last year for turbos, and AWD in
Eclipses. By mid June, new GSX's were quite scarce. I wanted a
black manual, but instead the only thing the dealer could get
in a five state area was a red automatic. The red part was fine by
me,
but it would would have been a lot more fun with a manual tranny.
The slushbox did however make for some pretty consistent runs down the 1/4
mile. It was a fun car, and the chicks dug it, but DSM's break a
lot, and I can honestly say I have no desire to own one again.
